Abstract

This research aims to identify the characteristics of international entrepreneurship involved in the internationalization of Amerino Menendez, the major export that operates in the cigars and cigarettes in the Brazil. The theoretical analyzes, first, the concepts of internationalization and evolution as a guiding theoretical bringing the main theories of internacionlização and subsequently defined the concepts of international entrepreneurship. Are also given the factors of intersection between the concepts - the key theories of internationalization and international entrepreneurship. To obtain the data were semi-structured interviews with the management of the Menendez Amerino, we used the content analysis software Atlas ti. To the study were utilized a case study with qualitative approach. The left noticeable that analyzes the relationships that management had, was instrumental in internationalization. It is identified that factors such as location, climate, and others pushed the company in time to internationalize, it is clear that the company was set up in São Gonçalo seeking strategic factors as wages, raw material and the tradition that Bahia has in other markets, and is considered a region with tobacco. Finally it is hoped that the identification of these characteristics may guide the actions of companies who want, more expressive, the foreign market.
