Peer Review Policy

Peer Review Policy

All texts submitted to the journal undergo a desk review process that includes two basic procedures: in an initial screening, compliance with the formal requirements established in the submission standards of the journal INTERNEXT – International Business and Management Review is verified; then, plagiarism is checked using specific software, SafeAssign.

In the event of plagiarism identification or any other type of disagreement with the standards, the work is rejected, and the author(s) duly informed. Once accepted in the first instance, without identifying the author, the text undergoes two evaluations by members of the Technical-Scientific Council and/or ad hoc reviewers. In the event of a divergence of opinions, the work is submitted to a third evaluator. The evaluation result is communicated to the author(s), and the opinions are summarized. The final decision on publication is the responsibility of the Editorial Coordination. In the event of suspicion of plagiarism or misappropriation of an article published in INTERNEXT – International Business and Management Review, the ESPM Research Ethics Committee will be called upon to endorse the editors' decision, previously forwarded to the PMDGI coordination and assessed by the Program's board, or to suggest a procedure that best responds to the situation that may have occurred.

The reviewers are professors and researchers associated with stricto sensu graduate programs at national or foreign educational institutions. The articles are evaluated considering the relevance of the topic studied, the writing, the logical sequence of the theoretical review with the use of appropriate references, the suitability of the methodological procedures, the depth and consistency of the analyses, the outline of the conclusions and the relevance of the contributions, using a predefined form provided to the reviewers. This stage of the evaluation process can last up to three months, and at the end of it, the authors are notified of the editorial decision.

What are the possible results?

After the evaluation, the Editor will make the following decisions:

When reviewers request adjustments to the article, the authors will be given, at the discretion of the Editor, a period of between thirty and sixty days to incorporate the requested suggestions and corrections. After the requested adjustments have been made and verified by the reviewers and editors, the articles are subjected to spelling and grammar review, the adaptation to the standards adopted by the journal, and the final editing of the document. The conclusion of this process does not imply the immediate publication of the article. It is up to the editors, by the editorial policies, to prepare the guidelines and decide the appropriate time for publication.

Note: If the reviewers disagree, the Editor may select a third reviewer or reject the manuscript.
