Abstract

This article aims to investigate the processes of transport of sugar in the activity of the bulk loading and unloading at the terminal of "The Company" in the port of Santos. Thus, it was known by the case study of exploratory nature, the following issues: a) - which are currently used combinations of modes in moving their products, b) - the process of loading and unloading c) - the system of supply chain management, d) - possible limiting factors in the model of transport of the current volume transported. On these issues we tried to analyze the factors that directly influence the productivity of the company researched, taking into consideration the various factors involving this type of transport due to seasonality of the load. There is the case study presented, be of extreme importance to loyalty in the supply chain management, as the minimum failure to underestimate the factors involving the operation of loading and unloading in the port terminal, caused huge losses that directly affect the operator port and the various stakeholders involved, which in turn directly influences the image of this organization. Finally, it is also about the possibility of elements which can increase the productivity of the operation by the choice of technology conteinerização of the load.
